5 Things to add to your Bucket List on your next Trip to The Inn at Deer Creek Winery

You’ve just booked your stay to the Inn at Deer Creek Winery. We have plenty of live music, in-house events, board games, wine, and even a cafe to keep you busy and entertained during your stay. You might even have booked a room with a private hot tub to help you relax on your trip. What you may not know is within the picturesque countryside of western Pennsylvania 

there is plenty to see and visit right next to the winery. Grab a notepad, you will want to write all of these down to add to your bucket list for your next trip! 

Cook Forest State Park

Only a 30 minute drive from the winey, you could get lost in adventure all day at this PA state park. Right along the Clarion River and home to some of the tallest trees in the northeastern U.S.. There are plenty of hiking trails, like Seneca Point, which showcases a panoramic view. Take the day to float along the river in a kayak or even an inner tube. Antique Shopping

In the surrounding area we have plenty of places for you to find unique pieces and plenty of hidden gems while antique shopping. Here are a few of our favorites!

You may even be lucky enough to book your stay during the annual 100 Mile Yard Sale! It is held the third Friday and Saturday of July. This event goes along Route 879 outside of Clearfield, Pa and runs through several counties in Pennsylvania including Elk, Cameron and Clearfield Counties at various homes, businesses, and roadside locations.

The Kinzua Sky Walk

Located in McKean County, the Kinzua Sky Walk is just one of the major attractions at the 339-acre Kinzua Bridge State Park. The once former Kinzua Viaduct, at its time the tallest and longest railroad structure, is now a pedestrian walkway. Take a stroll across the bridge or hike the trails surrounding. Your trip isn’t complete without stopping at their visitors center to learn all about the history of the bridge. 

Lighthouse Island

Located in the small town of Tionesta, Lighthouse Island is the perfect place for any outdoorsman. Take a hike around the 22.5 acre island and see all of the beauty that this small town has to offer. Situated between the Allegheny River and Tionesta creek, the island offers plenty of room to fish or launch a boat. The most captivating site here is the Sherman Memorial Lighthouse situated right on the island. Stop by and may be lucky enough to walk inside and receive a tour of the lighthouse.
